Stories from the world of RC car racing

Just one week after Chris Sturdy annexed two EP offroad Qld Champs, fellow junior driver Kyle McBride has smashed a phenomenal field to win both Buggy and Truggy classes at the 2010 GP Offroad Qld Champs held this weekend at Pine Hills Dirt Racing, in Brisbane’s north-west.
It represents 15 year old McBride’s biggest results yet – with the field including Frenchman Renaud Savoya (3rd at the last GP Offroad World Champs) and almost all of the top Australian GP offroad drivers these dual wins surely put him at the top of the pile in terms of GP offroad in this country.
I last saw Kyle racing in the flesh at the 2007 EP Qld Offroad Champs – where he, like Sturdy in 2010, won both the Stock classes. From there it’s been a meteoric rise to the top of what is the most competitive R/C class in Australia right now.
To Kyle, and dad (and master mechanic) Scott McBride, from us at Action R/C, congrats and well done.

Well done Kyle & Scott, you were too hard to catch in 1/10 off road and now you have done the same in 1/8, your dad must be so proud of you, I know that feeling

Just out of curiousity, how much money did Kyle win at the event? Just want to see if I should prep my youngin for RC or Golf/Tennis.
