Stories from the world of RC car racing

Simple really.  I’m looking for something cheap for my kids to be able to drive in the backyard and learn the skills.
something like a tamiya grasshopper or hornet, maybe a rock crawler, even a smaller scale (losi mini or micro perhaps).
Cheap
If 10th scale, no radio gear needed (but open to it if you have an rtr)
Let me know if you have something sitting around you no longer need!
cheers
scott

Avoid the hornet and grasshopper at all costs. Ebay a Tamiya DF-02, its basically a raised and widened TT01, indestructable bathtub chassis, shaft driven 4×4 you cant go wrong. Spares available everywhere. If you are cunning, this can be found for around 100au including a Tamiya ESC with LiPo cutoff (TEU-104) minus the body but you can use an old Proto body.

Hey Scott, while I dont trade much in RC,(hate to see my models go) have an older DF02 tubbed Gravel Hound… in reasonable working condition, ( not high end shocks etc ) very robust, Includes Tamiya Brushed Speedie and can throw in AM Futaba in good condition. Would rather do a swap for used LiPo battery charger . It’s our first RC car…540s _+ tuned, + a 21 turn as well I think… Can meet with heavy if suitable and you’re still looking.
