Stories from the world of RC car racing

Queensland R/C superstar Peter Dooley is rumoured to be considering returning to south-east Queensland after a couple of years on the pro circuit in asia.  Much has changed in his absence, and we want to help Peter out in his re-joining of the local R/C circuit if he makes it back down under.  Take the survey, offer your thoughts and let’s bring the bloodnut back where he belongs…

If the ranga ever comes back from his enforced vacation (due to the explosive nature of the ranga effect….aka the Dooley dent), it would have to be in a car that is midnight blue and has good shocks and a good diff…….otherwise, he might have to ask Anthony ‘The Flea – missing my mancard’ Atack for some expert advice in diff and shock building!!!!

Last chance for survey responses. Peter is anxious to know what class he should race so that he can begin the mental rehearsal. I’ll publish survey results tonight.

Don’t get too excited about that Pete – Vazzo changes his mind every 5 minutes about everything.

The early results are in. There have been 20 submissions so far, some of which include:
    – Modified tourer in a HB Cyclone (i presume this was a comedy entry, nobody races Cyclones in modifed)
    – Gas Tourer (presumably from an EP driver)
    – F1 (warning, Peter last drove 2wd in 1998)
    – Scotty G’s Pit Biatch (not even my suggestion, but it has merit)
    Of the choices offered:
    – 8% Stock tourer in TT01
    – 16% 540 truck in the AE TC4
    – 16% Mod Tourer in the Mi4 LP (one person suggested 540 in the LP!)
and the overwhelming conclusion, 58% of respondents suggested a pair of knitting needles, a shawl and a rocking chair.
    Welcome home Pete!

In other news, Mr Dooley’s comeback “away” race meeting has been selected by his management. Peter will compete at the 2010 Victorian TC Championships at Templestowe in May. What a place for a first major after two years out of the sport! Mr Dooley will be joined by the rest of Team Action R/C Schumacher’s modified class contenders (and some pretenders).
