Stories from the world of RC car racing

Well I’ve done some testing – enough to know that the 21.5 is substantially faster than a 540 and confirm my thinking that it’s not the way to go for the moment.
Logan club have seen enough as well and decided not to go on with any more testing, fair enough. 540 is still 540 and a cheap, driveable motor for beginners and fast enough for some meaningful racing – long live 540.
So my 540 is back in the Serpent S400 where it belongs and the 21.5 is out on the bench – just waiting to go into the F1 (AGR Clubman LW).
Only 2 weeks now before I head for Tassie and the Tassies State Titles so need to get the 17.5 back in the Schumacher Mi4 and get some practice happening, I’m feeling very unprepared at the moment.

Heavy.. out of interest and not an argument for debate.. I trust your findings… Did the 21.5 draw more current from the battery? Question is in terms of motor efficiency.

Sorry Harry – didn’t check that, was using a 5300 so was never worried about current consumption. If I run it again anywhere else I’ll be sure to check that.

Any news back from Sunny Coast testing?? They make up majority of ORRCA so they may base a decision off their results?

Vazzo – the tests that have been done so far have been club inspired not ORRCA inspired. ORRCA normally wouldn’t move on something like that until clubs were doing it as a regular class etc

You would think so Dave, but all the recent changes they have made have been self driven.
