Next Saturday night we have the annual Holden v/s Ford “V8 Challenge” at Logan Onroad. Annually held as the last meet of the year it is being held next week as it was rained out in December 09.
The rules are simple – drivers must declare themselves as Holden or Ford and must run a conventional EP TC and must run the standard 540 Johnson grey motor.
At the moment there are about 30 drivers signed up to race the Challenge and a few around who still haven’t seen the potential fun of it yet and want to continue to race their regular classes- I have a spare Futaba brushed speed control if anyone wants it for the night – actually could probably rustle up a complete car with the speedie in it if you are too lazy to change your own car – that is of course if you want to run for FORD (Serpent S400) anyway 30 is about the right number for a V8 round isn’t it.
I will be running the Schumacher Mi4 LP Race which is the budget level Mi4 – read fibre glass plate instead of graphite and cheaper shocks and a few other bits, be interesting to see how it hangs in there.
All the fun starts from about 4pm Saturday 16th. Oh and there is a chance to practice on Wednesday night if you Holden drivers need it.
Go the Fords
