For those who have been waiting for the MLP there is some bad news this morning.
Marty has been in hospital for a week very sick and it may possibly be the end for MLP – depends on his recovery etc etc. While we wish Marty a speedy recovery, I feel that those of you who have been patienty waiting might want to consider some other options for an F1 car.
I’ll be having a good hard look at what else is available and happy to advise you if you need that – just this week I talked someone out of a Tamiya and into a Corally because I thought it would suit him better, guess it depends a bit on whether you want to run Division 1 or Division 2. (Maybe we should have called the motor divisions F1 and F2 )

Dave..The way I read the rules,there should only be ONE class…You have a choice of 21.5 or 17.5(or brushed equivalant)to use depending on the track condition…ie a slippery track 21.5…a grippy track 17.5

You can enter the stock class with a 21.5 if you want Bob but you’d better read the rules again –

That’s a shame heavy…it would have been good to have another car in the mix. Hope it all works out for Marty and he gets back up and running soon.
You do know we can make the Tech a really good car at a very reasonable price 😉
I think what Bob is getting at is if we have the Div.1. allowing any motor up to (or down to) a stock/17.5 then why have the 2 Divisions. Maybe it should have been like you say named F1…27T/17.5 only and F2…540/21.5 only. Nothing else…maybe less confusion then.
Even with the low grip conditions at Sunny Coast last weekend I still found the 17.5 very easy to drive. The car was an absolute joy to drive. I think it would have to be extremely slippery to need to put the 21.5 in.LikeLike

From the agreed ruleset
Where numbers permit, the two Divisions will run as separate classes.
Combining of the Divisions will be at the Race Directors discretion.
540 division cars are permitted to enter the Stock division.
Obviously you can enter the stock division and still run a 21.5 if you want – there was some confusion about that at the last LOGAN meet.
It is important that we continue to encourage those who want to run 540 in cars capable of handling less power than say and AGR or Corally to have meanignful racing against motor/car combo’s of similar speed. Certainly I agree (and so does the rule set ) that if there aren’t enough numbers for 2 classes then there is only one.
The Tech is going pretty good now and I have the stuff needed to convert to Jaco tyres now as well so will make that change in the new year.LikeLike
