Stories from the world of RC car racing

There’s just one more week of racing left before I hook up the caravan and head for the Gold Coast and the annual 3 week RC free break (ok I still answer the mobile and the emails and post some parts out – but no race meets).
Here’s a pointer to where the fast and furious will be gathered this week.
Wednesday night 2nd Dec – Logan F1 – 1/12th – etc
Saturday night 5th Dec – Logan EP and GP
Sunday 9am Sunny Coast – EP and GP including F1 (TBC )

I’m planning a trip to the Sunny Coast for this Sunday for F1 – is there anyone else still doing this or did I get it wrong ?

Looks like a few of us are doing the double header…..Logan Sat Night and SC Sunday. (but all in TC Mod)
If I can get a drive of a F1 car, I will happily drive one!

There was a good roll up at Logan.
    2 heats of 540
    2 heats of stock
    1 full heat of mod
    1 gas car.
2 heats were complete before I left – not sure if the rain came or not,

Finally for this week – and my last race meet for 2009. The Sunny Coast was just that – I am very sunburnt, quite dehydrated, exhausted and just a little bit sick – but happy to have had the day out with my mates racing and in particular racing F1.
Today I was running the Tech racing 125 (still in my opinion the best of the “cheap” Asian cars) and was running a 17.5 brushless. There were a few set up problems with my car in the first few races but by the finals it was starting to work really well, for quite a few laps I was dicing with my old sparing partner Brad Hall in his Corally and the Tech was well and truly up to the task, sadly my driving wasn’t.
Anyway as a first race meet for F1 at Sunny Coast I think the day was a success and we will know a bit more about it next time – for me and my tyres it’s much better without traction compound – I’ll try to remember that for next time. Adrian Beggs won the day driving his own designed and built AGR car followed home by Bob Vardy in a similar car – both ran Speed Passion V3 17.5 motors and Jaco tyres – available through ActionRC of course.
Was also good to see Schumacher cars going so well and winning the other electric classes as well (Chris Sturdy in stock and Anthony in Mod ) also great to see a couple of new faces in mod over the weekend, Peter Beckett and Clinton Livingstone, both went really well for their initial foray into mod, hope we’ll see them in mod more often.

was good to see a few more people bolting in some power and giving mod a burl. it’ll be awesome if they stick with it… they did very well for their first weekend of running the class 😀
also just to let everyone know, things are getting put into motion as far as sorting out the 2010 interclub series… should all be worked out early in the new year.

Well Mr attack it looks like one of the boys have call it quits on running mod full time. But im still in for the long haul. And it makes you respect mod drivers that make it look easy as its hard to get use to but im slowly getting it im only two meets old.So maybe one day in the close future i can show you how its done until then ill just have to deal with you handing me my a#s evey race meet. :mrgreen:oh and thanks to lenny and you for help to get started with mod.

Really? That’s a shame. Pete was driving well and seemed to be enjoying himself. Sorry I wasn’t more chatty and vocal on Sunday, but I was about to keel over, I have no idea how I made it home.
C’mon Pete, stick with it. You guys racing mod at Bayside this Saturday night?
And no probs with help or advice, anytime, just ask……
