Stories from the world of RC car racing

Now that the dust has settled (or was that a heat haze) on the Nats for one more year it’s time to get back to normal. This weeks racing
Saturday night – Chargers Redbank – EP Offroad
Saturday night – Bayside GP and EP Onroad
Sunday – Gold Coast EP Onroad
Sunday – Sunny Coast EP and GP Onroad
Should be something there for most of us – me? not sure yet thinking about Offroad but will see.

F1 at the Gold Coast on Sunday. Awesome track for the F1’s. I will be running my 21.5 to see how it performs against the all mighty brushed cars.
F1 at Sunny Coast next weekend. Dont miss it.

Thanks for the correction Corey. I think my brain got fried in Sydney.
If my new Speedie comes I might run the Tech in F1 with a brushless as well – or TC – not sure yet.

    Hey Guys
Theres going to be a few drivers at Bayside Saturday night running Superstock. So far we have Clinton, Peter, Corey. Come on Tony you know you want to, you to Heavy 😆 I’m sure Crusty and Tim might want a run. Let’s give the class the go it deserves

Meant to get Scott to take a more appropriate photo on the weekend but I forgot.

No more driving for me this year. Dislocated trigger finger. Will be back in the new year.Heavy, If a new F-1 happens to turn up to a track to look at, then i’ll be there. 😆 😆

A dislocated trigger finger?! If you run mod you won’t have to pull the trigger so hard. 😀
I’ve seen a finger injury nearly bring someone else’s career to a premature end. Somehow he was able to battle through adversity and make a full recovery. He now celebrates his recovery by holding it up in the air any time he’s in front of a camera.

No racing today at the Gold Coast. Race Director not interested enough to set up the gear 🙄 . All we managed was some practice for a couple of hours.

That’s so bad – now I’m glad I couldn’t make it – would have been angry if I’d made that drive this morning. How many were there and did anyone make the drive from Brisbane or any of the NSW boys ?
Is there a plan to restore regular racing for electrics on the Gold Coast
Racing at Bayside was great last night so the weekend wasn’t a total flop.

Sunny, Brissy and Goldy boys. No NSW I think.
I think next year it will change. It seems very much none of the current crop are interested at all in promoting/running any racing here.
Time will tell whether it is dead in the water.
Sunny Coast next weekend…F1 circus will be rolling into town…we hope.

On a different note I got to try my SP21.5 v3 against Bob’s 27T brushed stock on the full length Gold Coast track. I started with 76mm roll out and it felt really good everywhere, even with top speed. Only lost about 2 meters on the straight compared with the stock motor. Most of that was in the first 3rd of the straight. Top end was very even. Didnt get to play too much with roll out but temps were very good also. Well within a comfortable range.
The ony thing I would change is the ESC set up and run some drag brake which should help with turn in. Carried way to much speed off throttle. This was with a LRP SPX set on full everything.
This will be my Sunny Coast motor for next weekend. Even Bob is going to throw one in (to his car 😉 )

If my speedie arrives I’ll run mine on Wednesday night and also next weekend at Sunny Coast – is the F1 circus a definite for Sunny Coast next Sunday ?

As far as I know the circus is going up. Maybe we should get numbers Wednesday nite. At this stage I know there will be Graham LJ, Bob, Myself, heavy. Martin and Brad said they would be going but I heard today that Martin might not make it. Also think Stuie P was contemplating it. So I guess a possible 6 at this stage.
