How would you go about identifying the best R/C race of all time? For a start nobody has seen them all. But then is it how close things are at the finish? The presence of a stellar passing move?
This week i had the chance to check out the liverc.com DVD coverage of last year’s 8th GP offroad world championships. The A final, 60 minutes in length, was an unbelievable race and had it all.
5 different drivers led the race. The track conditions were so tough that the very best in the world were making mistakes. the front runners were all on different pit strategies. There was some quality passing going on. As late as 55 minutes into the race there were still three guys that could win it, with Hara coming from way back at the 10 minute mark to finally get home by about 1.5 seconds.
It was, I think, the best R/C race I’ve ever seen….either on video or in the flesh.
How about you? What’s you choice for the best ever?
