Does anyone know how to scrutineer a body and wing for the AARCMCC rules (body and wing height) – I’ve been playing with a Speed 6 body and can’t make sense of the rules – seems you have to really slam the body to get it low enough. I’d like to get it checked before I go to Sydney to make sure it’s right.
Do I have to paint the wing for AARCMCC.

i haven’t played with body mounting yet – but i’m sure it will be difficult. i’ll be trying to get both the ltc-r and speed 6 into usable/legal shape

I’ve mounted an old (Camel Yellow) Speed 6 body so I can have a run with it this weekend and see – and hopefully get it measured for height and wing height etc – and also see what the car is like with the Mazda as I have been running the LTC up to now.

I would check with AARCMCC directly, when doing the rules for the Qld Electric Titles this year I was told by Peter Ellis that the rules on the AARCMCC web site aren’t the latest rule set, they are dated Jan 08, there has been changes since then.
We tried to run to these wing rules at the Super Stock titles at Sunny Coast earlier this year and decided to change them and used common sense.
Painting the wing will depend on the organizing club and how the Tech inspector interprets the rules, leave it clear and take a can of paint just in case.

I am looking at the 2009 amendment
Roof height – min 110mm
Wing height max 110mm
Roof and wing height to be measured for the chassis base line
So normally the body will be higher than the minimum but the wing can’t be. So if you mount your body normally with a bit of clearance under the inner guards so the wheels don’t rub all the Camel Yellow off then the wing will have to be cut down to nothing to get back under the maximum 110mm.
I must be missing something, the rules can’t be that stupid surely.
The AARCMCC Nitro rules make so much sense in this area with a minimum and a maximum height for the body and simply the wing can’t be higher than the body – pity the electric section don’t apply that.LikeLike

The min roof height measurement should be done with the chassis on blocks, or with the wheels off and the chassis flat on the deck.
With the body mounted the roof can be no lower than 110mm from the bottom of the chassis plate, and the wing no higher than 110mm from the chassis plate.
Easiest way is to mount the body as low as you can and still be in the rules… then make sure the wing is no higher than the roof line.LikeLike

I understand that, but when you mount the body at a reasonable, practical height it’s more than 110 (more like 113 to 115) but the wing can still only be 110.LikeLike

That doesn’t sound right David, can you send me a copy of the 09 rules which the club is going to use.
I’ve had a few discussions with Peter about body height and wings and I think new rules will be voted in at the AGM.
These new rules will be a lot like Nitro and close what we ran at the Qld Titles this year.LikeLike
