Stories from the world of RC car racing

For our growing number of Mi4 pilots, we’re starting to assemble a collection of setup sheets over at our Setup page.  The collection will grow in coming weeks to initially cover south-east Queensland tracks – and hopefully further afield as we get to travel with the cars.
You’ll also find a link to the factory setup sheets hosted by Schumacher at racing-cars.com.
There is a link to the blank PDF setup sheet we use to create our completed sheets.  Unless you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you might need to download a free pdf writer (we use cutepdf) to enable you to save the setup sheets once you’re done writing them.
Got something to contribute?  Post a link here in the comments, or e-mail a completed setup sheet to Scott and we’ll get right on it.
Enjoy!

Has anyone had a play with roll centre change in the front end. On the UK forum, some drivers have tried putting a 1mm washer under the three notch camber plate which bolts to the frt bulk head. ❓

Tony…We tried this change last week at Bayside and found it to be a good adjustment if you are looking for on power steering in the middle to exit of the corner. Lifting the plate up effectively lowers the front roll centre and reduces camber gain throughout the whole corner. Adjusting the upper camber links is only a small change so if you where looking for a bigger change I would lower the roll centre using the lower hinge pin blocks first and then fine tune the car with the upper.
If anyone has a different idea on this please feel free to add.

Cool Adrian this is exactly what I am looking for. I will try the change on Sunday at Bayside.

Another good tip Tony is sell the Schui and buy an XRAY 😆 But all jokes aside they do look like a really good car, I’d even go as far to say much better than the 3.5. I wonder if these tips will work on my XRAY 😉
What you running at Bayside Tony? Super Stock?

In addition to the newest team member debuting his Mi4 on Sunday there will also be an appearance of a high profile “Guest Driver” running another Mi4 – also in mod. Should be an interesting day.

Just finished uploading Kirby Masterman’s winning Mi4 setup from the Northern Rivers Challenge. Some subtle, but significant differences from my setup, and well worth a look.
Different wheelbase settings, rear sway bar, rear link bar, camber, toe, shock fluid to name a few.
Check the Setups page to grab the setup.

Thought so Ill use no other tyre mate dont worry bout that. I just couldnt decide between b and c and thought c might be better as they heat up quicker. Thanks Heavy.
