Stories from the world of RC car racing

Sunday 9th

Now for something a little more real than the Stig and not quite as much a figment of my imagination. It was fun though.
I’ll be racing Stock TC at Bayside and then will hotfoot it out to Redbank try to get a couple of heats in mod 4wd buggy.
The TC is still pretty much standard Mi4 – just a couple of little tweaks.
The CAT has the rear shock mod but I have made some changes to it to restore the original wheelbase.
Looking forward to a big day out

Actually I have to run a 540 car tomorrow as well – I am getting the Serpent out of mothballs ready for a Grandson to possibly race and will have to give it a run tomorrow to make sure it’s ready.
Keep him going till I can lay my hands on a cheap Mi3.

Thanks Toby but think you missed teh word “cheap” before mi3 in my post.
Bayside was absolutely fabulous today. Small entry
8 540, 9 stock and 9 mod some gas cars in both classes although with the Qld’s on they were down on numbers.
How long since we have seen 9 mod at a club day. Anthony of course, and a lot of new to nod faces and a couple of new to Bayside and a couple of old returning to mod faces as well.
Anthony ran out clear winner of the finals with 3 firsts, I think Tony Lewis has 2 seconds which would have given him second and now I’m guessing but I think Corey would have been third.
In stock Clinton is untouchable at the moment and got the TQ and all the finals. Not sure how the results panned out for the minors, either Peter or Bob second probably Corey 4th and Heavy 5th – something like that anyway. Racing was great.

Great racing, great company, great weather. The numbers were good in mod today. Hopefully mod might be on the comeback. 😆 😆

Well……….. No sighting of Stig at Bayside Today. If he was there, he didn’t introduce him self 🙄 🙄 How rude. 😕

    Mod did look pretty good.
Like a “duck to water” was the best description I heard re Tony Lewis’ switch to mod – no doubt when the Stig gets here he will be able to impart some valuable tips to Tony (and others ) to help them along.
I believe look for a white bodyshell and maybe some prototype bulkheads recognisable by their being a different colour.
Now that Tony has his own mod motor and I have mine back I guess there is no longer an excuse for not giving mod a go myself. Unless anyone else not in mod already wants to have a go then I can lend them the 6.5 for a racemeet or two.
