With F1 starting to get off the ground again I’ve slipped a new page in to our web site so we can explore some of the cars etc and get some info out to prosepective new drivers. The page is very basic at the moment but we will develop it further as time permits. Maybe some setup sheets and some test drives, some tuning advice and maybe an interview with our very own AGR designer, who knows?

F1 racing is the best I hope we can get it back to the numbers and quality racing we used to have down the coast and also at the hills track. Nothing better than F1 racing. I will be down at Logan on the 15th of Aug to race in the F1 Grand Prix. Hope to see a few new faces in the F1 ranks there. If anyone needs a hand to set their Corally F1 up please come and see me. I will do all I can to help.

Brett Ryan was at Logan tonight with an old Corally F1 clutched in his hands, rusty motor, cracked tyres and all – he’ll be back.

Hi guys Ive had a f104 for a few weeks and am getting it set up at the moment. I had a quick go around meakin this arvo.
Just looking at the batteries I currently have a bowrrowed nimh 4200.
Is Lipo the way to go for battery and can I just use the soft cased lipos or do I have to use the hard case to meet the racing rules?LikeLike

If you are going to buy batteries get a LIPO for sure. In F1 a 3200 hard case will fit in most cars and I did all teh races last night on one 3200 pack – just a bit of recharging between races – and I cam second so teh pack is not so important in F1 especially 540 F1. If you are going to want to race at teh clubs and in teh bigger events might as well get an approved pack right off and then you’ll be right.

are most people (or everyone) running 540 motors? what kind of gearing do you have on these things?

At Logan on a Wednesday night we have been running 540 motors for the last few weeks and some of the cars are better with them than anything more powerful. For the series we are using up to stock (and 17.5 brushless ) At the Gold Coast meet they are allowing Super STock – up to 10.5 (19turn).
Personally I think Stock is about the right mix – the AGR and the Corally can certainly handle more power but the Tamiya and derivitives are probably better on 540 or stock.LikeLike
