Moving On

Now the dust has settled from last weekends Interclub it’s time to think about the week ahead looks like there is not too much on really.
Wednesday night (22nd) – F1 racing at Logan – if you don’t have a F1 yet come on down for a look and a chat. If you have a Tamiya F1 and think it will be outclassed by the Corally F1 etc then bring it down anyway we are looking for a 540 F1 class and the Tamiya F103 is king in that class. See you there.
Sunday (26th)
Bayside – Onroad EP and GP – a great place to start your kids or grandkids off in 540 and also a great race day all round. EP 540, Stock and psooibly 10.5 or Mod. GP – GT and Pro. Nominations by 8.30
Sunny Coast – Onroad EP and GP all classes. nominations 8.30
Chargers – EP Offroad 2nd round of the club points series and a great place to run EP offroad all classes. Nominations 10.30
Whichever events you decide to race at, have a good time.

Are there many stock buggies getting around Redbank. I’m thinking I might need to trade in my B4 for a T4.
    Cheers

Think you would always get a run in 2wd stock. You could always get a Schumacher 4wd buggy and run 4wd mod we could duke it out for last place.

I thought that the Gold Coast ran on teh same weekend as Logan but apparently not – I don’t know how to work out when they are running – but apparently they are running this weekend as well.
So they will be my third choice for Sunday
I could go to Bayside till 10.30 then rip out to Chargers but can’t see how I can make the Gold Coast.

Looking at the GC calendar it seems they had a 3 week break in the middle and now are on the Bayside weekend every fortnite.
Thats a bummer as it rules me out of making GC any time soon.

Lets see who turns up to run what – be prepared for either class.
I’ve got a serrated wheel nut that won’t get a grip – we could compete for that – “the nut”

The M I-4’s were released with black blades on the dogbones. But looks like due to ongoing testing, they may have now chosen to use the grey blades again. I will have to confirm with Heavy which shipment my M I-4 was from to confirm the change.

Sorry Vazzo the answer is that the grey blade have longer wear and are the prefered option

WOW – Wednesday night at Logan is just getting better – not many numbers yet if F1 but we are certainly getting a few guys there that are quickly coming to grips with 2wd F1 cars.
We had no computer tonight so we just raced without it – a series of 10 lap races – that’s as high as Bob can count – and they were fantastic races.
I was just using a 540 in my car (a circa 1990 Corally F1) and it was just as good – fast and driveable as any of the other cars. I’ll run an 540 motor in the Tech next week as I think it would be on teh money as well.
    Most enjoyable night.

Bayside I reckon for me (although I really, really want to go to Chargers Offroad ) question remains is it stock or 10.5 or mod.

The battery post is actually a different post to the Mi3 one. I have some of those but doubt if they can be made to work – we can try tomorrow.

Bayside seemed like a pretty good meet today – I wasn’t there for that long but there was a strong heat of stock ( I was delighted to run 3rd and 4th in teh 2 heats I did before I left ) and mod was looking interesting with a couple of new faces (Tony making a start and Andrew making a come back to mod ). The 540 field was small but they were having good races.
Sorry didn’t get a chance to watch the Gas but Big Phil was looking good in the bit I did watch. Gas seems to have died off a bit at Bayside lately.
Went to Chargers Offroad meet at Redbank and there was quite a crowd there – 2 heats of each of 2wd stock, 4wd mod, stock truck and maybe 1 heat of mod truck.
I was delighted to finish 3rd in the B final managed to get some decent tyres on the car for the final and it made a difference – thanks Gary.
The Electric offroad scene at Redbank seems to be growing in numbers every week. Apparently there will be a new track layout soon as well – looking forward to that.
Next race meet for me – F1 Wednesday night.

C’mon Tony tell us a story about your first race meet in mod – how did it go – did my motor survive ?

    Like

  33. 'The Reaper' Avatar

Tony had a awesome debut in mod! He was quick and had good lap times!!! and super consistency!!! 0.2 std 😯 😯
Your motor survived Heavy….it was never in harms way!
Hopefully, Andrew will get the black cat off his back and have a happier time next fortnight. Wasn’t him or the car….just everything else, power supply, tire warmers….as I said…black cat stuff….
Who knows…next fortnight we might be able to lure JP out of retirement and others out of the woodwork??? 🙄

    Hey Tony
Did you find the 6.5 had enough speed? I just ordered some new motors and they had no 5.5 so I grabbed a 6.5 instead. Fingers crossed it will do the job.

WOW ❗ ❗ That was awesome fun, just to have all that power on tap. Heavy your motor is in good shape. I was keeping an eye on the temp all day.
Vazzo the 6.5 has evething you need to start with. My aim is to stay with the 6.5 for a short while, stay smooth and consistant rather than chase lap times at this stage. Thanks to Leanard and Tones for there help and patience. 😀
