Stories from the world of RC car racing

The third round of this year’s Interclub series is coming up this weekend, at Brendale’s world class facility.
The layout will be the same as the 2006 Electric Nationals and grip has been pretty good of late, so it should make for some exciting racing. It’s a different style of track to what most people have been club racing on, who will adapt best?
The track will be available Friday for practice and the usual deal of Gas Tourer, 540 and Super Stock on Saturday and Pro Tourer, Stock and Mod on Sunday.
One important note for those competing in the EP classes this weekend – The use of tyre additives (of any type) is not permitted at any time during practice or racing.
You can nominate or view the list of entries so far here.

Is simple green on the ban list for the weekend? Being non toxic, biodegragable liquid it wouldn’t have any effect upon the enviroment?

The track should be fine without tyre compound during the day. The challenge is trying to get your car around the track on a cold night without any compound 😆
Heavy do you think the 28’s will be in by the weekend mate?

I have some at the moment. If you are definite I will keep you a set but if not sure then the best I can say is maybe.
Meaning – I will have some if I haven’t sold them all before then.

Well I’m ready. Had a bit of praccy this morning – couple of issues, not sure if they were car or brain related but think I have it set all to go.
Quite cool at Brendale this morning, if that wind blows tomorrow you will need a jumper for sure.
The food report is good, plenty of bacon and egg rolls for the morning a a bar-b-q for lunch along with the usual chocs and drinks etc so bring money.
Racing should wrap around 4.30 ish tomorrow.
I was talking to Scott and he said he had to kick ice off the drivers stand in Hobart today, where he was doing a test session for Racing Lines, so I don’t think Brendale will get that cold.
Over 100 entries now so all looking good for a fun weekend.

Well another great day at Brendale – The Interclub concept is alive and well and club rivalry certainly does add something extra to a trophy race day.
In Mod today Anthony was untouchable but Tim and Cory certainly showed that they were willing to give it a shot, some great races in mod today, shame Tim dropped a pinion for the last race, disapointing for him and also for the spectators – didn’t change the overall result as he still hung on to second place.
In stock today Clinton was a class of his own, well above the rest. Steve and Vazzo stepped it up a notch as well to make things very interesting. Clinton won from Steve and the Barger was in third – great racing all day.
Pro Tourer was a Michael Sherman, Josh Dorn affair with Josh coming out on top after a hard fought final.
    Long Live the Interclub.
Roll on round 4 at Logan.
Oh forgot to mention Logan won today by a point from Brendale with the other 3 clubs trailing further back – results are up on Brendale Web site and the club points on Action RC soon as well.
Great job by the club running the event but in particular have to mention my old mate Trevor – did a great job of pulling it all together and racing both days as well – was pretty competitive as well – when I was watching the B final of GT on Saturday I thought to myself “gee the old codger is going pretty fast, not sure I’ll ever get the Glo Plug trophy back” – good on ya mate well done.

I still cant believe that in 2 A main finals i pulled to the side to let a couple cars pass thinking they were lapping me, but i later found out they were not. coz i was rediculessly tired from hardly any sleep for 3 days.
    My own fault…………… 😦
