Finally there is a chance that after having the CAT around for over 6 months I am finally going to get to a race meet – Chargers Redbank.

That’s a funny shade of yellow 😯
I reckon Heavy you’ll be bolting in a 10.5 and racing in Mod

Chargers Point series
The stock is a combined 2wd/4wd class. Truck stock will have it’s own class.
Modified will have 3 classes – 2wd, 4wd and truck.
Is that the rear shock conversion I see?

Very observant – what springs do I need front and rear ?
I have a 10.5 and a 8.5 so I could go that way 😀 😀

Jason – now that Mark FP has started using Camel yellow I had to move on to something else.

I’ll be using some Losi shocks front and rear. Gary’s Cat looked really good with Losi shocks on up at Townsville.
If you’re using the Schuie shocks probably start with Jason’s Ippy setup;
Front – Red springs, 35W oil, 3 hole piston. Maybe 40W & 2 hole pistons if the front feels soft.
Rear – Red springs, 30W oil, 2 hole piston.

What – change the springs, the oil and the pistons – man there’s a lot of work in this Offroad racing eh 🙄

More work but less bitching in the pits!

The big question is will there be a comeback to off-road racing in qld by me this weekend….
Is 15yrs away from off road, long enough for you all to recover from the carnage I left….
Can I reproduce the form I had in truggy last weekend in Tasmania….
Stay tuned, all will be revealed

reproduce the form you had in truggy last weekend? jeez for the sake of whatever you are driving, I hope not… 😯 😀

Well, there is a 4 foot high fence that should keep you inside the track area.
Hopefully the track layout will be undergoing a major change soon. Time for a new layout.

stock or mod for me – that is teh question still to be decided.
I’ve printed out your setup tips Mark but have a set up of my own on theh car at the moment so will see what happens.
Bitching in the pits – never noticed that ❗

haven’t got the truck back yet Stevo so think your comeback has had a setback 😆 😆

Modified, even the 10.5 like Jason said.
If Jason runs his Cat and I get mine together it could be a Cat 1-2-3 finish. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of laps up on the competition to sort out who comes first.

So will September see Heavy and the boys (Scott and Steve) on the track together?
Might have to get Big Mac down for this one also.

Hey Stevo just heard I get the truckback tomorrow so the comeback may not have had a setback after all.
I’ll try to dig out some radio gear etc and bring it – maybe you can get into the action at some stage.
With teh new layout can we get rid of all the jumps and put tarmac down ❓ 😆

More jumps if we can, maybe not as many big ones this time.
Ryan’s trying to get a wall section happening similar to Euro’s tracks.

If I can make it down for a run on that weekend will it be a invite class just for us???

Really enjoyed my return to Offroad today – have to say the CAT was a lot better than I was. Really felt very nervous and tentative, especially over the jumps. Was reminded about how important it is to have the right tyres at the right time as the track changes through the day.
Had a few dramas with the steering servo but Gary came to teh rescue with a loaner which allowed me to enjoy teh day – great work mate.
I’ll definitely be back as soon and as often as I can, c’mon Big Mac you know you want to. 18 cars in Mod 4wd today, 2 heats of mod 2wd and 2 of stock truck, 1 of mod truck and 1 of 2wd stock – pretty healthy day – all electric of course.
Thanks for having me fellas.

Great days racing down the coast today. Some very close racing in all classes on a great track. Would be good to see more brissy guys there. I sure as will be. Well worth the drive. 🙂 🙂

Your car looked brilliant out there David… I couldn’t keep my eyes off it. 😯
And thank you again for the onroad rubber and the tips, very much appreciated! I owe you heaps!

No worries mate.
I was happy with the car – probably a bit outgunned in the motor department (10.5) but that can come later. Also forgot the first rule of Offroad racing – have the right tyres. Think things will get better when I learn to jump and have some flying lessons. Definitely be back sometime soon.
