Stories from the world of RC car racing

There is a lot of speculation in various forums that there is an upgrade or new Schumacher TC about to come out. Some say the “new” car will have all the new bits that have been released as hop ups since the Mi3.5 came out, some say there will be a choice of chassis thickness (ie carpet / tarmac cars ) but anyone who knows is not saying anything at all.
Seeing the Mi3.5 only came out in July 2008 it’s most unschumacher like for there to be another version already – maybe the old saying still holds true “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” who really knows what a model car manufacturer will have to do to stay alive through a depression.
I know this for sure. I sold my Mi3.5 secondhand a couple of weeks ago thinking I would run gas for awhile and then decided I would get another Mi3.5 into stock so it would be here in Brisbane if I needed it – guess what, I was told that “The Mi3.5 pro is out of stock and an announcement will be made in a few weeks. The Mi3.5 Race is still available.”
Now you can speculate and read between the lines all you like, but that’s all we know for sure.

whatever it is, doesn’t make the mi3.5 any slower. you still have a quick car in good nick. and schuie have a track record of keeping parts supplied for years – we can still buy new parts for ’90s models
whatever it is, I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Me too. I liked the Mi3 when it came out. I didn’t jump on one early on as I was more than happy with the xray. Having seen the 3.5 in the flesh and running locally It was not as big of a leap of faith.
Holding my breath to see what changes are made.

What I liked when the Mi3.5 came out was it was assembled – I am so lazy these days I loved that. Also that the settings were pretty right straight from the box.
So I’m hoping that when I am ready to go back to electric onroad that the Mi?? will be assembled, well built and ready to rock same as now.
Also from a business point of view I hope it uses lots of the same parts cause I am still supporting Mi3 and Mi3.5 so don’t want a whole new inventory.

if I were a betting man, I’d be wondering if whatever it has has similarities to the cat sx….drivetrain, lipo friendly layout etc. pure speculation on my behalf though – not much inside info in tassie!

So if you own an MI3, and you put MI4 upgrade parts on it, does that make it an MI3.5?
Or if you put MI4 parts on your MI3.5 makes it a MI3.75?
    I’m confused…

    Well let’s see.
There’s the Mi3 – not the current model but still kicking butt – especially in 540 – shares plenty of parts with the Mi3.5 and can be turned into a Mi3.5 with the right bits.
Then there is the Mi3.5 – the current model in Pro and teh cheaper RACE versions.
There is no further announcement from Schumacher so everything else is idle speculation by us racers who love the intrigue etc.
Believe me – when I know anything readers of this blog will know it pretty quick there after.
