In a great upset Chris showed talent and maturity beyond hos tender years to TQ and win 3 final legs in 540 at the first day of the 2009 Interclub series at Bayside today.
Chris drove his Schumacher Mi3 faultlessly all day to out distance some fancied opposition.
Strangely this ex Scott Guyatt Mi3 won the Presidents Shield and this same race in 2008 then driven by Gary so it’s a great double for the Sturdy family – Gary went on to win teh Qld Title in 2008 as well – can Chris do that too – it would be a brave man that would bet against it.
Second today was Logans Johnny Hyde and third also from Logan – Brad Palmer.
The 10.5 class saw some hot racing finally won by Tim Weier from Martin Nichols and Corey Broadstock.
The Gas Tourer final was a highly competitive race and was won by Michael Sherman from Jason Dorn and John Taynton.
Seemed like most had a good day.
I did take a couple of videos which I have managed to upload to my computer and I signed up for a U tube account but about then my computer skills took a dive and I can’t get the video to upload – oh well I’ll have another go later.
Tomorrow it will be Stock, Mod and Pro Tourer.

Day 2 is over
Mod. Tim was teh runaway winner to give him 2 wins for the weekend
Stock. Clinton jumped away in Leg 2 to equal Keith with a win apiece. Clinton was too good again in Leg 3 to take teh win.
Pro Tourer
Jason Dorn was just too good.

Great day today. I’m a lobster with a nice shiny little trophy. You had a good drive today too Dave. You can cheer me on now. XRAY is shelved, electrics stripped. Bring on the Schuie!!
I forgot to ask Tony how he ended up. After having a drive of the Sherman’s smelly, dirty noisy car I’ve been a bit distracted….

Well done Chris, great start to the year, keep it up mate. Toby I’LL lend you some sunsreen when your in the Schuie camp. Today, would have charged you for it. Finished as top Schuie driver today, just ahead of Heavy and Barger. Tough with 2 veterans of the sport on your bumper.Overall was a great days racing.
