Stories from the world of RC car racing

Seems to me we have a confusing and somewhat strange situation in electric touring cars now. Now I care little if it’s 1500 or 1425 minimum weight but surely we can get all the Qld events to be the same.
For the Presidents Shield 22.2.08 we can run 1425gr.
For the Interclub Round 1 7-8.3.08 we can run 1425 gr
For the Qld Super Stock Titles 28-29th March we run 1500gr
After that it’s back to 1425 gr for some clubs – probably some clubs will still be 1500.
I’m a lazy sod and don’t like the idea of trying to weight up and balance up for different events – the easy option of course is to miss one event and leave my car where it is now at 1430.

You wouldn’t pass up the chance to be a AARCMCC Qld Champion now would you Dave 😉

You can always run the Gas tourer in the GT champs and watch the super stock, because there’s going to be some great racing.
Orrca have dropped there weight to 1425g so hopefully the SS titles will be the last.

Adrian if I thought there was even a remote chance of me winning an ARRMCC title I definitely wouldn’t enter.
John – not even close to old enough to be a spectator yet, you get a year in fifth scale before you turn into a spectator and I’m not planning fifth for 2010 so a long way away.

IMO we should leave the cars 1425g for all QLD events, I guess the only reason they are running 1500g in SS is because AARCMCC rules havent changed. I’m with John though GAS for me that w/e. AARCMCC might even change the rule for that event, has anyone asked them about the weight?

AARCMCC agreed to leave it to the Club.
If 1500 was run national points could be gained.
i believe the club opted for 1500 to try to entice some of thr big names.

there is good and bad sides to both weights.
1500 is easy for people with already heavy cars and also makes achieving balance easier,
but then lighter weight means less tires wear and should mean better direction changing etc, also easier on motors but as we all do im sure if we can gear up that tooth cause the cars now lighter we will.
ive gotta get a string line set up on the phi as i believe the balancing pins to be in accurate, but using the pins my phi seems to be balanced at 1400grams so doesnt worry me though i still think my weight distribution isnt perfect.
    just a view not mentioned
