Stories from the world of RC car racing

Don’t you hate rain outs. All the preparation, the anticipation, the practice, the expense – all for what. Well we had a good morning catching up with each other, telling some stories and espousing some theories – but at the end of the morning the announcement came – racing abandoned, the meet will be rerun on 22nd Feb – a day night meet starting early – be there at 7.
In the meantime normal racing resumes – that means 10.5 Super Stock on 8th usual time.

So much to look forward to…again. New track layout, new surface, new faces, new cars. All new challenges and goals for all to look forward too,….as well as night racing to add to the excitement. See you all for first round of Superstock on the 8th. 🙂 🙂

I have Depression from this happening so much,
eg: all the meakin meets near the end of 08 rained out.
Brisbane needs a 1/10th indoor on road track so bad.
Maybe one venue that has both onroad and offroad indoor, so as to generate more turnover / members , say onroad one weekend off road the next. one set of timing equip needed etc.

Could even make entry fee be $15.00 per person even for members, as to help cover costs of indoor facility.
At first you might only get 20 people a week , but then i reckon it would grow to 30 or 40 people per week
    20 per week at $15 = $300 per week
    30 per week at $15 = $450 per week
plus then theres club member ship fees
What are some prices of an indoor facility big enough for 2 small tracks in an industial area????

Do you really think there are 30 electric drivers in Brisbane who would forsake their clubs and go racing indoors every single week of the year at $15 ?
The rent on a shed big enough to do both would be in excess of $1000.
A carpet track – with portable jumps – could be suitable for both offroad and onroad thus reducing the size of the shed required.
We couldn’t get enough numbers to keep Hobby Station going back then so would we now ?
