Stories from the world of RC car racing

Post Edited 29th by Heavy
OK what we have decided to do is to meet on a Wednesday night at the old Fairfield road track and run the little buggies – once we have enough we will look for a hall to rent and move inside.
We will aim at starting early Feb- maybe 7th and see where we go from there. Everyone is to bring a piece of carpet to make a jump or a timber jump – smooth entry (they are only little wheels ) and not too high – between 4 to 6 inches to start.
Lets go with that and see where it leads us.
Something likethis looks ok to try – see where we want to go with brushless
Heres a couple of LIPO options
1
and
2.
I think they are both the right size.
The cars are many mainly Duratrax Vendetta Buggy, which is the same as the Yokomo MB4 or the Anderson MB4(unassembled kit with motor no other electrics) – you could choose a RTR or whatever suits.
Or go here and scan down to Anderson – Perth, not a bad price.
I’m a bit lost on how many people we have for Wednesday nights so if you are in please confirm.

Any 1/18th is fine – when we get enough we can look at gearing or whatever to get close racing if we want / need to.

We’re going with buggies Josh, not touring cars. We have more chance of getting enough numbers by allowing more brands.
The “track” is in the carpark of the Yeronga railway station on Fairfield Road opposite the RSL. Just down the road from Heavy’s Hobbies (RIP)

Should have a car in the next few weeks but I don’t think I will be making it to the old Yeronga track. A little to far out of the way for a mid week for me 😦

Don’t think 1/10th scale buggy wheels are an option- look here http://www.actionrc.com.au/MB4.jpg

Should have added Yeronga to the list with Toowoomba
Nah…Getting there, much like HobbyStation was, is such a pain during work traffic and you use up all your energy trying not to abuse the tools on the road that once there you dont feel like racing.

What we need is just a covered area like a school etc – not fussed about whats on the ground, pavers, concrete, tarmac, timber anything really and probably in the Beenleigh area would be the best – or between there and Logan.

There is the parcel pick up at the Eagleby Coles. It is undercover but there is no power. Not sure on lighting tho but could be worth a look. I know there are a few sheds in the show grounds in Beenleigh as well.
