Stories from the world of RC car racing

Another enjoyable race meeting in Tasmania tonight.  This time it was the first of two days of racing at the annual Scottsdale Show.  Scottsdale is a small town about an hour north-east of Launceston, and the show hosts an annual demo race.  The (on-road) track was built on three tennis courts, making for a reasonably sized track.  Once again Rocket worked his magic to produce an enjoyable layout.
I can’t make it back tommorrow, but enjoyed racing EP Modified along with using the opportunity to test the stunning Kyosho Inferno GT2 Audi DTM (read about it in December/january Racing Lines).  It was a most enjoyable evening of racing.
The best bit however, is that between Launceston and Scottsdale is the sideling road.  The sideling is a famous stretch of road used for Targa each year.  Here’s a little footage i shot this afternoon on my way over to Scottsdale.  it is an awesome piece of road that I thoroughly enjoyed.  There should be more races at scottsdale I reckon!
Photos from this afternoon over at the Action R/C picasa web albums.

Thought I taught you better – fancy needing a piece of yellow tape on the wheel to know where straight ahead is – and gloves and a navigator goin to a rc event – and I notice you’ve put a different dash in the Camry. 😆 😆

The only crazy thing there is that the guy in the red car stubbonly refused to get out of the way for a faster car as required by the rules.
