An interesting parcel arrived today.
A spur gear adaptor that will allow me to run standard types of spur gears on my Tamiya F1. I have been looking for one for ages and finally it’s here – given the value of the Aussie dollar at the moment I shouldn’t have but I really wanted it. Now all I have to do is find the time to fit it and fit some tweak screws. Shouldn’t be a worry eh ? Nothing else to do.
Well there is a CAT SX patiently waiting to be put together which is supposed to be raced on 1st November. 2 full days work I reckon Including the 5 minutes for body painting. Where will I get 2 full days in teh next 2 weeks ?
Well there is also a new Schumacher 3.5Pro that has to be put together for me to race next Bayside. I sold the RACE I was doing the testing with as a customer wanted it and I didn’t have any other new ones available – anyway I’d done enough to know that it is a good thing for the price – very good in 540 and good enough for stock. At around $400 can’t be beaten for value I don’t reckon.
Add to that the caravan show is on this week so that means a 6 day working week for me this week and next – whatever happened to retirement ?
Logan tomorrow night – it’s tempting but not too sure yet, see how I pull up after work tomorrow and how much I get done on the CAT tonight – after Top Gear of course.

Enthusiasm took over tonight.
Got the Mi3 Pro together, had it on the tweak board, speedie in, servo and motor all in body and wheels on – even got to check the camber and toe etc – fantastic progress.
Ignored the pleading looks coming from the F1 and left it on the shelf and got the CAT SX box open – arranged the bags in order and opened the first bag and took out all the mini step bags and arranged them in order – this is a very well organised kit.
Got as far as step one done – this is bolting the 2 left hand bulkheads down on the chassis and bolting on the motor mount – looks very nice – and at least mine hasn’t got any Jason Wakefield drool on it like Garys has. 😆 😆 😆 (so far).LikeLike

My Cat is all clean now, got all of Jason’s prints off it.
If you got that far in one night, you should be finished by 2009.

But this morning it got a spur gear and slipper shaft and a rear belt and drive pulley and a RHS rear bulkhead – but I need a better way to stop those pesky slipper pads from falling out of alignment on the spur ❓ ❓ silicon diff grease on the spur side ❓ ❓

Ok, everyone has a cat and I don’t – no need to rub it in 😥 😥
I am doing my best to “free up” some funds as we speak – though I think I’ll be in the dog house if the missus finds out 😆
Actually Dave since you seem pressed for time I’d be only too happy to offer my building services to get the Cat finished.
I know it will be difficult for me to fit into my schedule but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make to help you out 😉LikeLike
