Stories from the world of RC car racing

Sad news tonight that the Tasmania’s North West R/C Car Club at which I’ve been doing some GP buggy racing has been temporarily shut down by an environmental protection authority on the basis of a noise complaint.  The club are trying to get to the bottom of exactly what is the situation, and on what basis the ruling has been made – but for now at least, no more racing for any of us.  It’s going to be a long sunday of thinking about what might have been…..
I’ll keep you posted.

get the council to agree to keeping teh track open for electric cars – at least that keeps the club going while the nitro noise issue is dealt with.
There are plenty of good electric conversions around for 1/8th scale buggies – better than no racing at all thats for sure

Looks like interesting times ahead for NWRCCC. The current track at Don (on the outskirts of Devonport) will host one last race meeting, then be closed.
The club have secured a new location, ideally located adjacent to a major motorsports facility and in an industrial area. Good facilities, no noise issues. Temporary racing will be up and running mid-november, and a new track build in time for the new year season. good stuff!
