Stories from the world of RC car racing

MMM big problem looming.
This Sunday is Bayside and I never miss Bayside – but – it’s also Fathers Day – what to do. Well I will be there at 7am as usual but probably won’t be able to stay beyond about 12 or so.
Mind you with Scott up from Tassie last weekend we did have an early Fathers Day and I scored big time. A Mini – but not just any Mini – mine has an awesome Datsun 1600 shell. Now anyone who knows me probably knows that I used up my fair share of those cars rallying them during the 70’s and very early 80’s. And all 4 of my sons drove them at some stage in their early driving careers – Scott even had one of my rally cars as his first car. So I was very impressed to be presented with a real scale RC Datsun 1600 – fantastic. Don’t look for this one on the track anytime soon – if I want to race Mini I’ll put a boring body on it.
Anyway back to Sunday if you can race then see you there – if you can’t well see you at the Bayside Cup the fortnight later

    Does The dato shell fit a MO3 M ??
Also you’ll have to break it out for Concorse at the up coming Mini Cup?? (22nd November to be confirmed)

The Datsun 1600 body fits a standard M03. To fit the M03-M you’ll need to remove the centre chassis spacer.

There were a lot of people there today – Fathers day or not, there were a few extra kids around watching their dads play toy cars and a few wives as well – not alltogether a bod thing.
I only stayed till lunch so not sure of any details at the moment.
I think Clinton TQ’d in stock ahead of a hot field but couldn’t say about any of the other classes.
Anyway it was good to see a good crowd there having fun.
Next meet is the Bayside Cup which requires pre entry and the week after that is the Qld Titles – busy times for Bayside.
