On a day when most of the big Stock guns came out to play Clinton was just too good for the rest in his Mi3.
It was a great day when we even had more than 2 mods and a good number of 540 and stock. Also plenty of noisy cars.
In 540 Stuart Pearson took TQ and the win from Khala and Mitchell.
In Mod JP was TQ but couldn’t do the stuff in the Final – our famous (3 Qld Offroad Titles last weekend) Scott Kirchner showed us that a good offroad driver is also a good Onroad driver by taking the final ahead of Tim and Leonard. A much more interesting mod class than the last few weeks.
In stock they went at it from the jump – would the TQ go to Clinton, Keith, Adrian, Martin, Bob or Andrew? In the end Clinton was just too good but there were 4 drivers on 21 laps and another 4 just out of it. Clinton piped Keith by less than .5 of a second.
In the final Clinton bolted and was never headed. Keith and Bob had a great race for much of it and fished 2nd and 3rd.
So it was Schumacher 1st and 3rd – another great day.
Just one more normal race day, then the Bayside Cup, then a week later the Qld Titles – get your entries in – there will be great racing.
Just for some light relief Grant and Bob and Heavy raced their F1 cars during the lunch break and proved that these cars are an interesting and raceable proposition around Bayside. After the titles we will be offering racing for these little rockets at Bayside providing, as usual, that we have at least 5 cars – there will be a control motor and it will be announced soon – hopefully we will settle on a brushless and a brushed motor (possibly the Ezerun 13t and the Tamiya Sport Tuned ) stay tuned for an announcerment. next fortnight we are going to test the Ezerun motor and also test a 17.5. I’m still smiling from the enjoyment of that 10 minute run with my F1.
cheers
