I’ll definitely be doing the Interclub, just have a problem with AARCMCC and their long standing attitude to ORRCA and their lack of knowledge and appreciation of the local scene here in Qld.

This is what I was hoping to talk to you about this weekend Dave, this whole thing has upset me a great deal, especially seeing as how Wynnum will make the ORRCA QLD’s a big hit…
I doubt I’ll be racing at the Sunny Coast Interclub

Don’t get too uptight about this yet Ash. The ORRCA Qld Titles will be a great event at Bayside irrespective of what happens with AARCMCC / Sunny Coast.
We will have top Interstate drivers at Bayside and we will have the best of the Qld drivers. At this stage the AARCMCC event will have no 540, will have no brushless motors in stock and will not allow LIPO so those factors alone will ensure that it won’t be the event that Bayside will be.
I’d love to race in the OS TG spec motor event but probably won’t mainly because of the reasons mention on the soapbox.

I don’t agree with the name of the event, as there is only one QLD titles, but another event would be great, but under AARCMCC rules will make it hard for , all the QLD stock drivers who have just gone out and bought Lipo’s and BL motors, hell I dont even own any Nimh batteries let alone a decent brushed motor or the equipment required to maintain them. But I’ll be there to support the club, may have to run Mod and buy some batteries but, race time is race time, some of us aren’t blessed to have tracks at our disposal so when a chance to race at such a high level comes up I jump at it.
ORRCA does look after its racers at State title events , it’s the little things like pit towels or a nice gear bag that makes a difference , I might not get a trophy but you get free stuff..
Plus event’s are always a great place to catch up with freinds made throughout the RC community, I’m always meeting new people and strating new mateships out on the track, there is always someone fighting hard right beside you on the track and usually it’s someone different.
Bring on the racing I say….

I agree I love big events – they are the best for all the reasons you have listed – but there can only be one Qld Championships.
The other problem I have is the number of major events in August – one major a month is about all I can afford. There’s already a Qld Title event in August that I am planning to do – bought a car especially for it just because I love big events.

Talk about buying cars for events I’m tryibg to get my hands on a good 1/8 buggy to race the Nats up here, were also trying to get our little off road track done by then too, just for something to play on…
