On track action at the 5th Scale Onroad World Championships has begun this morning (Thurs Sept 20) at the Brendale circuit in Brisbane. If you have the time, make your way out trackside to see the best large scale racers from around the world do battle for the Championship.
If you’re stuck in the office – head over to www.5thscaleworlds.com and get the latest news. You can also follow the links from there to www.quantumtiming.com.au to register for live timing for the event. Finally, there should be daily video updates at www.rev-up.tv. Awesome!

Day 2 of practice underway today, and after two rounds of practice it’s Markus Feldman from Martin Lissau, with Brisbane Jeff Hamon in third. Russelll Greneger is also well up this morning in 10th place after two practice sessions. Rankings at this stage are based on fastest three consecutive laps – rather than a whole race distance.

The first video update at http://www.rev-up.tv is now available. Some excellent footage including some great shots of the cars going through the fast sweeper at the end of the main straight that really shows the performance of the 5th scale machines. I’m really looking forward to getting out to Brendale later in the week to see it in the flesh…

Practice is done, and racing starts tommorrow. Today Markus Feldman continued to be the quick man – some 4 secs faster than the next guy. Of the Aussies, Jeff Hamon sits 6th quickest at the end of timed practice with Russell Grenenger 15th. More excellent videos uploaded at http://www.rev-up.tv. I’m heading out briefly Thursday morning, then all day Saturday and really looking forward to it.
