Stories from the world of RC car racing

C’mon guys – I’ve only got two takers for stock on Sunday – apart from the 4 that regularly race there – the change of tracks will only make you a better racer at your regular haunt.  Bayside is still one of the better layouts for stock electric around – if you haven’t tried it yet or not for awhile (like me) this Sunday would be a great time to give it a run – get there around 8 for a little practice.
Let me know if you are coming.
Anyone know Shayne Pearce’s number – give him a call and get him to ring me.

It was a great day of racing at Bayside, thanks again for the invite. I dont think I can go back to 540 now after my first run in stock. See you all next week at Meakin.
    Cheers

Yeah it was a fantastic day, had a ball and I definately think the different track and different surface made me a better driver…
Hopefully can be a bit more regular attending!!!
    Cheers

Racing at Bayside today was generally fun. There were 9 of us in stock – some new faces and some old – as in old in years and also old in membership.
Good to see the new guys – great to have you and hope you can make it back again. A season at Bayside will do your driving no harm at all and will almost certainly enhance your set up skills and understanding a fair bit.
Great to get Bob and Graeme back as well after a long lay off from Bayside – hope we can do it again -was good to have the Schumacher 1,2,3 qualifying – shame Shayne wasn’t there as well.
Even Scott turned up for a little look and managed to drive one heat (tq’d of course – the little pain he is ). Good to have you too Scott. Also visiting were Aaron Fryer with some advice for the newbies and also blast from teh past Tony Lewis – Tony is about to re-emerge as a force in club stock racing – welcome back Tony.
Wow it was like old home week – Speedbump turned up – reckons he was out walking his dog and came upon the track by accident but I think he just wanted to say G’day and tell us teh Poms were winning the cricket or some other equally irrelevant game.
The club announced to day that Boral will top coat the pit lane this week so we can see what teh product looks like on concrete before the club goes ahead with the whole job. Should be on teh track by the end of September.
Finally let me just say thanks to all those guys who agreed to come and race with me today – you made my day a good one – oh, and thanks for letting me win and it wasn’t even my birthday.

I very much enjoyed my cameo drive. Was nervous for a minute or two with the Barger in close company, but we both survived. The track was in good shape and felt smoother to me than I’ve noticed before.
Then again, I was running at a slower pace than I’m normally used to.
Then again, I was running the Mi3. Perhaps it’s just a fantastic car and smooths out all the little imperfections…!
