Stories from the world of RC car racing

Thursday day off – finally got my Hotshot runner going. Took it out for a spin on the road – as you do with a Hotshot – no didn’t drive it down the drain as I did with the first one back in 85 but I did have a head on with a tree after jumping the gutter (forgot about the bump steer). Could have been the unfamiliarity with a stick radio as well.
The old hard original block tyres certainly make a lovely noise on the bitumen, great stuff. These old cars are doing great things for my memory which has been fading rather badly of late.
Next drive will be the Optima but I need a couple of steering parts yet, and a body (new one is on the way).
And that’s not all – had a great flight in the Helicopter today as well. Is the old mind finally getting the hang of turn left and right, drift left and right, forward backward and up and down all with two sticks – it’s not totally controlled but I can stay in the air for a full battery now within the confines of my double garage.

Great to have a drive of the old girl tonight – stick radio and all. Love the way the front suspension collapses under brakes and all that glorious toe out…..fantastic!
