It was my second visit to this club which over the past several years has grown in reputation for their friendliness and a great track. This year they host the ORRCA Queensland On-Road Titles, there first venture in holding the biggest event in our State for Electric Racers (5^th – 7^th October). 
As Anthony was away this weekend (trying to turn his Kyosho into a pan car) at the Victorian On-Road Titles it was only Leonard and I that made the drive up for there race meeting. The Meeting catered for both Gas and Electric cars and starts the day at around 9:00am on their Sunday.

Although I don’t have any results for this class, these guys/gals seem to be having a ball of FUN. It’s great to see the grass roots class running with so many juniors.
Re-buildable Stock
Qualifying for Stock Electric we had a field of 7 cars; the honours went with Chris Shevelling with 13L 5m 0.286s, nearly cracking 14 lap pace, and would have qualified third in Mod with that time, a great effort. Next were Graham Lloyd-Jones and then Chris Hyde.
In the Finals, Chris Shevelling was to good and drove away with the win, coming home second was Chris Hyde, and third was Andrew Clough.
Modified

Qualifying for Modified Electric we had a field of 6 cars; the honours went with Leonard Lai posting a time of 14L 5m 1.039s (are ya feeling the love Anthony, lol), then Tim Weir, and qualifying third was Heath Douglas. The Final was a different story however with several mechanical issues plaguing driver’s, but Tim Weir showed great consistency and his best drive of the day to post the win with 14L 5m 12.845s, next was I with an ailing differential, and recovering from a messy start and ill-handling car was Leonard. Tim was the only brushed motor powered car on the day, well done!!
The day finishes around 2:30pm, and was a very enjoyable, low stress day of racing and fun. I brought with me a brand new car, and my second attempt at running brushless (I still have nightmares of those Hacker Systems), and it was very impressive although the car had some teething issues that will need ironing out before Tamworth.
The Club have recently repainted the track and apply the same coating surface that the Logan Club used some time back. As all of us know from the experience at racing at Logan, this surface needs time to settle and is a little abrasive when compared to surfaces like Brendale. Never-the-less, I would encourage you all to venture up and gain track time practising for this year Titles as the circuit is reasonably challenging and a great driver’s track.
