the arrival of our Hotshot (see post below) has sent us on the prowl for more old buggies. We’re only interested in the models we used to race. Perhaps you can help us track down some of these. OMG!!!! All the memories this brings back!!! Of the list you have made up Scotty, I have owned the following: (not in order)

2. Team Associated RC10 (YES, mine was a gold tub chassis as well with the tube bracing at the front)

I would love to track down where some of my old cars went!!! And would love to see some of the cars on the list again!!! There aren’t too many old timers from the mid 1980’s still racing!!! I can only think of JP, the Guyatt tribe, Mick Sherman and myself!!! Unless your memory is better???
And wouldn’t the EPA love us now if they knew what went on back then??? 😉 – “liquid gription” to quote someone!!!

Peter Scott is the other name that immediately springs to mind. i first met Peter in the days of 4wd Junior stock at the old Lota track near the Police Boys Club (about 86 or so). He had the first Boomerang in town and whipped the Hotshots senseless. Still fast and today races EP buggies at Ipswich. Peter showed up at Ipswich recently with Dwayne Downs in tow – another name from mid-late ’80s Brisbane racing.

Yes Scott, I have actually been racing since 1984!!! Long enough to remember cars like the Taipan ( a cable drive 4wd conversion kit for the Rough Rider) and the Pitstop Mugen Bulldogs run by the Grenegers in 85-86. Glenn and I moved up here in Dec 89.
I used to race 1/12th scale too at Merrylands in Sydney, when Dave Smith still had his shop- Model Race Car World.
I’ve owned quite a few cars on Heavy’s list – and I’m trying to track down a few myself – especially the Mugen Bulldog.
My funds for the Qld titles look like diminishing rapidly too – as a new in box version of my favourite car has just been posted on ebay – this is going to send me broke!!LikeLike

Also have the best part of an original frog chassis (chassis, gearbox, rear drive shafts, arms etc – no wheels, shocks or body – might be usefull to someone doing restoration of a Frog as it’s not on my wish list at all.

gday mate,ive got a few oldies you might like.ive got a mugen mercury with loads of parts,pretty much over 2 whole cars and nearly a 3rd spares car,but no body.
a yz834b thats missing a few bits,but has spare chains etc.no body.
hotshot,pretty much 2 whole cars that i intended to clean and rebuild but havnt gotten that far,i have the crp front arm brace and a parma slipper clutch kit with it,no body.
i race an rc10t2 at the moment so i dunno if i could part with that one 🙂
1984 gold tub parts pile,there is a full car thats in bits,very well used.also a couple of grafite chassis and arms etc from different models.
a tomy intruder adonis thats new built and unpainted.
a complete fox,body is in good nick but the dude i got it from painted it on the outside for some dumb reason.
ive got most of a optima mid se,no body or wheels,belt covers were glued on for reasons beyond me.

Im very happy to see you have taken interest in many of these old cars.Many people are well and truly onto this craze now days and its brought a lot of old cars out of the wood work (and the attic).You wont have any trouble tracking down cars over the net,mainly through ebay but I guess looking around the local club scene may bring out some great old racers too.You may already know that I purchased much of Colin Grenengers old stock and have sold most of it off now to people all over the world.I am very passionate about the old Schumacher buggies and have endeavoured to have a few of the body shells reproduced for every one.We now have access to TOPCAT,COUGAR2 and PROCAT body sets.I have a hand ful of Cougar’s,Cougar2’s and Cougar 2000 buggies aswell as most parts for a Storm 2000 aswell as the original Storm truck.Oh and did I forget to mention my Bosscat WORKS which runs the Novak 5.5 GTB brushless set up? I will ofcourse bring many of these cars up to the Ipswich track from time to time.If you need any parts let me know.Cheers-Jason.

Looking for $150 for the built kit comes with Kyosho gold shocks and $200 each for the brand new kits, still have all the boxes and instructions. They are 1990 vintage Kyosho Outlaw Raider. Heaps of spares as well.

Stop looking – I’ve got a bit on my plate.
The Hotshot position is that I now have a shelf queen and a runner – it will be run soon at Ipswich.
I also now have a Kyosho Optima to do something with – needs a bodyshell.
I also have most of the Schumacher cars on our list – Cougar, Cougar 2000, Storm and Bosscat. Sorting that lot out from the boxes of bits and pieces will take me awhile. Also with that lot came teh surprise of the bodyshell that Scott ran on a Cougar 200 at the Nationals in about 95.
Also been offered an original Gold Tub RC10 complete with a lot of other bits and pieices Associated – have to make a decision on that offer in a day or so.

I have a Mugen bulldog awd series 1, been sitting for about 20 years and hasnt had much use since then, the rear tierod ends are broken (easy fix) but it is complete, minus radio gear, servos still fitted.
Im after the new toyota landcruiser Tamiya 58405 CR-01 ROCK CRAWLER KIT, so need to get this one sold,

I have a totally complete RC10 Team car here in excellent condition, with the flat-pan graphite chassis from the mid-90’s, plus a near complete Mugen Bulldog, and also a Kyosho Optima Turbo in pieces…not sure how many pieces are gone from that one…..

I have a Hirobo Zerda sitting on the shelf in front of me. It’ was run very little after I built it, then I put a battery or two through it a couple of years ago. It is unmodified and not painted. If someone has a good home for it, I’m open to discuss it. But this isn’t a give-away program.
