Our Tamiya Hotshot arrived – and took us waaaaay back in time.
We first owned one of these beauties in 1985 – so you’re looking at a 22 year old buggy. By the time we finished with it it had more traditional upright rear shocks, a home-made chassis constructed from thick polycarbonate (lexan) sheet and a few other mods that the sands of time have erased from my memory. A typical club day included about 35 Hotshots competing in 4wd Junior Stock (talk about spec racing!). The original block tyres lasted for months, the original (manual) speed controller was replaced much more frequently. Ahh….memories….
