I wonder if I am going to get an invite? I think thats a crazy format but you never know it might work. I was considering the drive but not anymore as there is no Mod class for the rest of us. And 19T lipo’s…hhmmm.
They should use the results from the Nats to pick the drivers. Andy Moore #1 and the 1-9 from the Nats A final. If any cannot make it 10 moves in and so forth.
Maybe I will just go for the day…air fares are cheap.

I agree Adrian……..no seperate mod class for ‘club racers’ and running 19t with lipos??? I was keen to go to this event, but after seeing the classes available, I’ll be staying at home now. (however, it would be good to see Andy Moore and whoever else comes to race).

bit of a shame really, it would of been good to see andy moore. by all reports the track isn’t really suited to 1/12th either… still it might be worth the trip

I’ve already made my feelings known to Dave Smith about this format so I won’t say any more except to say that I too think it’s a detrimental move and not fair on all the mod racers in this country who have invested big dollars in brushless mod equipment, and the preference on brands just leaves me speechless.

after my initial reactions of “dude – f*@& that!”, i’m starting to see some of the reasons behind it… lipos arnt as bad as what i originally thought, and 19t could be a lot of fun to race with.
given the entries at the corally GP on the weekend – having 7 mod drivers, and 3 heats of 19t, i can see why Dave chose to run the format.
Surikarn will apparently be the 2nd international driver in the invite field too, so there could be some damn good racing to watch, though i’m a little dissapointed to know that Anthony won’t be getting an invite, especially after such a strong performance lately… and especially given the other names that were suggested instead of his.
