I enjoyed the day at Bayside today as usual – despite managing to turn the EC into a sprint car for the last minute of the final! Good fun racing with JP and a good warmup for the Champs next weekend! We installed the new sintered rotor into the Novak 4.5 Brushless motor today – and I very much enjoyed the stronger brakes available – it should be a useful improvement at Logan with that extra stopping power.

i bought a 3.5 last week and gave it it’s first run yesterday at templestowe… after the first run i immediately turned the drag brakes off totally 🙂
the stronger rotor has enough braking effect, the 20% drag brake caused my car to understeer into the corners cause it was too strong.LikeLike

I ended up running 10% drag brake – but will test other options as well. The default 20% was definitely too much.
And did you have enough power with the 3.5?
Hmmm, I’m hearing stories about long-term brushed motor fans taking delivery of the 3.5…… Hmmmmmm.LikeLike

4 hours? didnt take me that long to re-wire it tonight 😉
actually it was fairly close to 4 hours, but that included watching jericho, family guy, weeds, futurama & ronnie johns… 😀

just need to trim a bit of excess carbon off the fan mount, and probably wire the speedy fan into the back of the speedy instead of off the motor fans.

I think I need a volunteer to “neaten” my car….
C’mon leonard, you could be the only brushed motor in the final this weekend. It’s nearly a control motor class! We can install and set it up for you in the morning before racing starts. Anthony can do the wiring and you should be ready by round 3…!LikeLike
