Stories from the world of RC car racing

It’s that time again and tomorrow night (31st May) is the night for Hobby Station racing.
Heavy will be over at the track from about 10.30 doing the clean and preparing the track. The track will be open for practice from about 4pm. Nomination from 6, close at 6.45 and racing from 7pm sharp finish by 10.30. If you want to nominate and can’t get there before 6.45 then ring me on 0408982156 or ring Hobby Station direct during the day.
This week there will be a good field of mod, some of the fast boys of stock and I believe a few more 540 will be there as well. Not to mention the Mini class. These guys have the most fun – mine is not ready yet but wil hit the track next fortnight for sure. Watch for details of a big Mini race at Casino on 2.12.06 and they are racing at Beaudesert now as well so this class is sure to finally realise it’s potential.
We race 4 rounds and the heats are brought on quickly with no waiting and there is then a short break between rounds. Come with some packs already charged so you don’t miss any of the action.
Don’t forget that traction compound of any sort is totally banned from Hobby Station now so leave your Paragon at home and come out for some odour free enjoyment. Most people ran last week without any traction compound and found plenty of grip. Give it a try – traction will get better the longer we go without it and you work on your setup to get more mechanical grip.
Hope you can make it tomorrow night.
cheers

Went up to check the track out today (Wednesday lunch time) “after” Heavy had cleaned the track and pit areas.
The surface looks as if its just been laid, all vacuumed, swept with a coat of sugar water to add that extra grip as tyre additives aren’t allowed to be used.
So in a few hours time all those that make the effort and turn up are going to be involved in a great nights racing
So yet again Heavy let me jump in and say thanks for all the effort you put in to the RC racing scene around Brisbane
