Stories from the world of RC car racing

We’re excited and delighted to announce that effective immediately David Guyatt will take over running the on-road racing program at the excellent Hobbystation indoor race track at Archerfield.  The agreement reached today between Hobbystation and Action RC will see on-road action at Hobbystation hotting up immediately as Brisbane’s best indoor racetrack joins forces with Queensland’s most experienced race director.

Our focus with Hobbystation’s on-road racing program will be threefold:
1.  Get the track and facilities (including pit areas) clean and “race-ready” and keep them that way. The race track will be properly cleaned and prepared prior to racing every time.  There will be clean track and plenty of traction.
2.  Run the race meetings professionally, on-time and with an exciting, and friendly atmosphere.  Race commentary, smooth running schedule, welcoming approach for beginners and experienced racers alike.  Race reports and race results posted on our website quickly and consistently.
3.  Develop a regular mid-week high quality race meeting with opportunities for fostering new classes (such as mini, 1/12th and Tamiya series) and new talent.
Racing will be take place on Wednesday nights commencing at 7.00 pm sharp.  Races will run to a strict schedule meaning we should be done and out the door by 10.30.  The track will be cleaned and open for practice from 4pm to 6.30 before racing commences.
The racing schedule will be fortnightly initially, with the race week switching from it’s current schedule so that we can run on the opposite week to Logan’s Tuesday practice nights.  The schedule of dates is:
Week 1: Wednesday May 24th
Week 2: Wednesday May 31st (two consecutive weeks to facilitate the switch)
Week 3: June 14
Week 4: June 28 and then continuing fortnightly.
Classes of racing will initially be 540, Stock and 19t/Mod combined.  As soon as we are able we’ll be adding a fourth class to the schedule.
We want Hobbystation on Wednesday nights to be a great place to race, and to hang our with your mates.  We’ll do whatever we can to make this a place you want to race.
We have plenty more exciting plans in store – so get ready, and get to Hobbystation on Wednesday May 24th.  We’ll see you at the track…..actually…..we’ll race you there!
