Stories from the world of RC car racing

In the Touring Car Classes over the weekend the Young Guns or should that be the Heir Apparents rose to their rightful places on the podium
Chase Gregory TQ and First in 540 and then an A final spot in stock.
Chris Sturdy TQ and first in Super Stock and again in Stock.
Corey Broadstock second in Super Stock and then the big one – TQ and First in Modified.
In each case we also salute the teams, the fathers, without whose help none of these results would have been achieved. Great work Dads and great driving by all three of the boys. In all of those wins there was daylight between them and the rest of the field, truly superb performances.

How can I have forgotten to mention Schumacher Mi4LP’s featured in TQ and Win in 3 of the 4 TC classes that were raced on the weekend. Congrats to all the other Schuie drivers that raced on the weekend as well.
Roll on Tamworth now – my favourite 1/10th scale RC track.

Congrats to Corey for the breakthrough big win in Modified. Question is….can anyone in Queensland hold him back? Great reward for hard work from this father and son team. I had the pleasure of sitting next to them at the ’09 nationals, and the ’10 Vic Champs, and I couldn’t be happier for their success. Hard work, talent, determination mixed with grace and modesty. A lot to like, and I reckon there’s plenty more success to come.
Hot on the Broadstock heels seems to be Chris & Gary Sturdy. They’ve only emerged since I moved to Tassie, but I can’t wait to see where they get to over the next year or two. The superstock win especially is a big effort. I hope a couple of big wins in championships later this year in the Stock class encourage them to go to Modified. And next time I go racing….I want Gary to work with my ace mechanic (P Dooley esq) to build my car!
Well done also to Chase in 540, and the old Barger in F1. The older he gets, the faster he was. 😀
I made it to this race last year, and really missed in this year. Glad to hear it was a good one.

You might be right about F1 Barger, but it’s a secret, don’t tell everyone.
Mod is considered to be the class at the top but I’m pretty sure that anyone who wins one of the spec classes would still be pretty happy with themselves and rightly so in my opinion.
I remember winning a Qld Titles in stock once (probably before some of you were even born) and I was pretty happy about it, probably at least as happy as the guy who won mod that meet.
