Yep, ice. That’s what I scraped off my windscreen after tonight’s Launceston R/C club race. My car was parked just outside the big tin shed in which we race….and the temp inside hovered only just above freezing. It was cold.
But things here are going great. We had another 41 entries tonight, split over six classes. We’re continuing to get good numbers in 10th Short Course (16 tonight), and also 8th EP offroad is growing rapidly – with 10 buggies and truggies on track tonight. These things are stunningly fast in what is a small, low grip indoor track. We’re still running a mixed heat of tourers and minis, while our 10th buggy class is split between novice and open fields.
I couldn’t be happier with how the club is progressing. We’ve lodged our incorporation paperwork this week, are about to affiliate with AARCMCC and are on the way toward transponder lap counting. We’re also planning our first ‘big’ meeting, with drivers from all over Tassie keen to come and sample racing at this new club.
Good times!
