Stories from the world of RC car racing

Japanese 16 year old prodigy Naoto Matsukura has driven his Yokomo 12th scale chassis to the world championship win on a completely dominant performance.
After easily winning the first final, Matsukura made an error on lap one of A2 and dropped to 10th place. Against the next best 9 drivers in the World, he took just three minutes to carve his way back to the front. Even if you’re not a 12th scale fan, this is a drive worth watching.  Video from Red RC.

After a rest day, attention turns on Thursday to the 10th TC World Champs. While most of the pre-race talk had centred on the usual suspects of Voelker, Rheinard, Groskamp and Hara….surely now Matsukura must come into reckoning. Driving the same Yokomo that has been dominating this year in the hands of Voelker….Naoto might just do what his mentor Masami Hirosaka couldn’t….and be the first ever to double up at an EP Onroad World Champs.
