Stories from the world of RC car racing

It’s been raining for months in Tasmania.  Race meetings have been washed out just about every weekend, the ground is saturated (which is a good thing after 8 years of drought), rivers are running constantly at flood levels.
Right in the heart of Launceston the South Esk river runs through Cataract Gorge (it drains about 1/4 of the state).  For the past nearly two weeks it has been running at over 500 cubic metres of water per second – peaking at above 1000 cumecs.  Do the math, it’s a stunning amount of water.  Here’s some brief footage Sheri shot of the gorge at peak flow.
Man are we looking forward to some sunshine when we arrive in Brissie this week!

That is so much higher than when we were there and I thought it was flowing hard then.
