Stories from the world of RC car racing

Action R/C’s own Matt Guyatt is this afternoon engaged in a titanic battle in the semi-final of the Queensland Trainee Matchplay Championships (also know as the Pampling Plate) at Peregian Springs Golf Club.
Guyatt, the 2007 Australian Trainee of the Year qualified fourth into the 32 player field and has won through three rounds to his semi-final with McLeod’s James Beadman.

Play hard Matt – we’re cheering!
(ps, we know it’s shameless self-promotion of a family member and arguably not strictly related to R/C cars, but we are excited, and its our website!)

bad news….Matt succumbed to a neck injury and lost his semi final this afternoon. The injury will most likely prevent him playing in tomorrow afternoon’s 3rd vs 4th 18 hole playoff as well.
Well done little brother, very proud of your performance.

Matt got his neck / shoulder back in action to play in the 2 v/s 4 play off today but unfortunately not quite on top form and got beaten 4 and 2.
Matt plays the $100000.00 Caloway event at teh GoldCoast Friday and Saturday so lets hope teh body holds together for that.

For those interested in Matts progress in teh Calloway event over Friday Saturday.
Matt had a difficult first day after being on target through the first 16 holes he carded a double and a triple bogey on successive holes to finish with a disapointing 77 on the first day.
Matt has always been a fighter and is never written off. Today he fired the second best score of the field (68) around Royal Pines to drag himself up to equal 22nd for a $960 pay day. Not quite what he was hoping for this week but pretty good anyway.
