Stories from the world of RC car racing

There’s no doubt Bayside keeps on putting on great race meets – well the track is great for 1/10th EP anyway and that makes it great for me and others.
There were about 40 there today and they were all smiles at the end so that also makes it great.
Gas Tourers had a good dice – I think from memory Aaron had a win in the final and it might have been a track record pace for the opposite direction no mug handle they ran in Nitro today -if I’m right – and this is all from memory – well done Aaron.
Pro tourers looked to me from the marshalling position to be a runaway win to Big Steve – sporting a new body and all.
Mod had a few more entries today but could do with more – Anthony was his usual untouchable self.
540. Some were using an illegal motor (sport tuned ) which is not good for the class and needs to be addressed. In spite of that Robert Tyler (using a legal motor) had a great debut drive to teh win in his new (secondhand) Schumacher Mi3. great to see Robert and congratulations.
Stock. Again the strongest field numerically and also loaded with talent. Qualifying ended up like this.
1. JP – Corally
2. Andrew – 08
3. Barger – Mi3
4. Clinton – Mi3
5. Heavy – Serpent
6. Brad – Mi3 (debut drive all smiles )
7. Corey – TC5
8 Tony – Mi3
9 Kirk – 07
10 Matthew – Tamiya
The final was a tough one and JP was just too good from Andrew, Clinton and Heavy.
➡ Only 4 more race days before teh Qld Titles – practice hard.

Thanks Heavy. It was a great day and I enjoyed the racing, even tho some were using other motors.
The MI3 seems to pop up in all classes that it is run.
Hope to continue the fight for podium finishes in 540 for the team.

Gee I was just reading that post and realised I had missed some most important stuff – stuff that makes you proud to be a member at Bayside.
I store my table in the container for convenience cause it won’t fit in the Corolla – when I got there this morning Doug had allready got the club tables out and he got mine out as well and set it up in my usual spot – thanks Dougy that blew me away.
I had the pleasure to pit with a couple of guys that cared enough to put my car down and pick it up before and after every race for me – that makes a difference – thanks Robert and Wayne.
After racing I was carrying my table up to the container and the back of it was half dragging on the ground – suddenly I felt it being picked up from behind and a little voice said ” you look like you need a hand” Now that was a little guy I don’t know – probably 8 or 10 years old – wish I’d got his name.
    What a great club !

    No worries Dave.
It was great to be sitting in with all the great racers and enjoying a laugh or two as well as helping out like others would do for me.
It is a nice club to race at.
