This event took me a bit by surprise this year – I had heard that it wasn’t going to be on early in teh year so didn’t get it in my diary.
Saturday I have to work and Sunday have some other things planned – might get there to watch the finals.
Don’t think I’ve ever missed a Summer Cup before – oh well that’s life.

    Mal’s Report from RC Tech
The report for the meet is as follows
Saturday was filled with a lot of fun and fierce competition in all classes the minis were on the high side of fun right up to the 19turn providing fast and well fort finals.
Scott Harris tacking out TQ for minis and wining 2 From 2 finals, with Ashley Cob and finishing second twice and over all. Third place went to Peter Boorman taking a 3rd and a 4th .
The 540 Class went down the line of Clinton Liverstone 2 from 2 and out right winner, then Simon Meusburger coming second in both finals and finally Chris Sturdy coming in third twice and coming 3rd out right.
At the business end 19 turn was one by our president Martin Nicholes who took a leaf out of Keith’s book remembered it is all about the qualifying. Wining one and then a second and out qualifying Keith to win out right due to the shortened rain out finals. But Hey a win is a win.
The veteran Keith Mackrill came second and the flying Timothy Weier in for third.
    Day two Sunday
The Racing just got better five current and ex QLD champs battling it out in stock was just some thing you had to watch to believe.
Chris Shervelling the current and very deserving champ proved why he is on top of his game taking 3 from 3 and there is your winner no complaints from any one.
Again Keith finished second, and with all the first place trophies he owns I am sure this weekend will help complete his collection of matched sets 1st 2nd 3rd voted the best and fairest to add to this one as well.
Third place went to Bob Vardy the champ from 3 years ago older but not out.
The junior of the meet was Young Core Broadstock for his great effort in stock A’s the highest contested class. Not bad for his first visit to Meakin considering the level of competition.
And last but not least the mod what can I say it was Anthony Attack and the Andrew Shepard then Anthony Attach leg 123. nothing in it but on little chicane making the difference between 1st and 2nd what a sceptical. A comment made by Anthony later was he dare note warm the tyres on the track at the start of 3rd final due to a batt dump in the second leg if he was going to win and I can assure this has not been a problem for a long time in mod with any driver. So in summery it was close very close. The surprise package Scott Kirchner came in 3rd , look out for this guy in the future he is going to be fast.
One more who won the big one you ask! Anthony Attack by qualifing points total of 16 then Scott Harris on 15 an Martin Nichols on 14.
