Stories from the world of RC car racing

The 2008 SEQ Interclub series for EP and GP On-road has been formally launched today.  Full details of the series are shown on the official Interclub page which you can find in the menu above.
The Gas Tourer rules are being finalised as I write – and we’ll update the Interclub page as soon as clubs confirm the proposed arrangements.
The EP Modified class rules are being finalised in terms of batteries by negotiation between clubs. Options include 5 cell only, 5/6 cell, and 5/6/lipo.  If you have an opinion about the battery rules for modified class racing, please let your club delegate know asap.  Again, as soon as the delegates reach consensus, we’ll post the final rules.
In terms of lipo batteries, the series rules allow for 7.4v 2 cell lipo packs to be used in 540, Stock,  Superstock (19T) and Modified .  The delegates have also published a list of lipo packs that will be legal for the series, together with a recommended charging and care regime.  If you are a lipo fan, we encourage you to take this information seriously. An incident free season of lipo use will go a long way toward hastening the inclusion of lipo packs for sanctioned events.

The clubs have now voted to accept the use of 5 cell or 6 cell or LIPO in mod for the Interclub 2008.
If you run mod and are contemplating mod consider this equasion when you buy your packs.
A 5000 mah 20c rated pack is capable of a 100amp constant discharge.
A 3600 mah 20c rated pack is capable of 72 amp constant discharge.
If you can go with the 5000 mah packs with a above 20c rating you will probrbly get a better result.
