Stories from the world of RC car racing

As most of you are probably aware Brendale have been running 19 Turn and Novice classes along side Gas Tourers Friday fortnights. While the numbers in Gas have increased lately the numbers in 19 turn have dropped off. In an effort to try and get the electric cars back out to this great track Stock and Mod will now be catered for at the Friday night racing.
So if not wanting to run 19 turn has been keeping you away, come out for a run tomorrow night. Racing starts 7pm.

There is a chance here for one of those mamoth weekends of RC that we often dream about.
Friday night – Brendale is a must. EP and Gas Tourer.
Saturday – SEQ Titles for 2wd Ep Offroad at Ipswich Stock or Mod
Sunday choose between Bayside and Sunny coast both running EP and GP Onroad.
    Choices, choices.

Ventured out to Brendale last night for the racing and was a bit disappointed at the turnout in electric.
6 stock and 4 mod. The stock racing was fun and I had some good races mainly between myself and John Hansen but there was a generally good feeling on the drivers stand as well.
The mod racing was a bit disappointing with it getting down to only 2 left by the final. Interestingly Tim has made the switch to mod and was very competitive, until the Tamiya did the usual and shed a rear belt, but the main interest for me was in seeing how fast Andrew had the Mi3 going in 5 cell form by the final – it looked absolutely fantastic – would have been good if there had been a yardstick there to compare against instead of him doing a lone demo drive – but I think 19laps in fairly competitive.
There was one heat of Gas Tourer and one heat of RTR – they all seemed to be going fairly hard.
No canteen at Brendale these days so looks like Logan has the 2007 Interclub Steak Burger award wrapped up.
Was good to catch up to a few people and swap a few caravanning yarns with Trevor.
At over an hours drive from Forest Lake on a Friday afternoon I don’t think I’ll be making the pilgramage too often.
