RC for fun ?

Surely we all know – RC is for racing – right ?
Well yes, but
I just had the best morning in RC that I’ve had for I don’t know how long, it’s a wonder you didn’t hear me laughing from wherever you were.
First – I’ve had the CEN Matrix 1/8th Buggy on the shelf for months waiting for me to find time to fire it up. Ok I got Mr Tune (aka Ding ) to get the tune right for me – what a legend that man is – and I pulled the engine out and worked on the clutch (nearly as much a black art as engine tuning but not quite ). Thought I had it right so off I went to the track just up the road where the dirt bikes play on the weekends, (no 45 min drive to the track, no waiting for a key to open the gate, no waiting for my race, just straight into it ). What a blast those buggies are – as you can imagine there are a few jumps and woop de doos at this track and the buggy was getting some serious air – fantastic. I put a tank through it and had to stop – this much enjoyment on a week day couldn’t be right – I’d better sneak back home before someone sees me having fun in RC without a transponder or computer in sight.
Second – after recovering from that episode I was fairly inspired to get some other projects off the ground. Grant had given me a B3 to get going for my grand kids some time ago and last weekend Shayne gave me another one for spare parts. I decided to get the thing going which didn’t take long. Put in a stock motor (brushes ugh) and found a LIPO that I had charged months ago and stuck that in. Fired it up  the driveway and up the street and started jumping the gutter etc – how long is it since I had a car that I could do jumps with – unreal. Decided to put it away before I broke it before the kids had a chance for a drive. I’m going to have to take the LIPO out before they drive it – too much power – too much speed – and wheel stands awesome.
Well that’s my morning – the conclusion – there is still fun to be had in RC. Just me and a car, a few jumps, a few laughs, great way to spend the day off.
By teh way the LIPO is for sale – charged once, discharged once amongst lots of laughs – see it listed with lots of other gear once I get around to listing it.
Heavy Laughter.

I can hear you laughing from my place. I know just how you feel Heavy. The beasties are great fun and a fantastic way to relieve lifes stresses.
You`ll have to come and play with Team 2 Dogs on Sunday week at the next Offroad meet.
