Stories from the world of RC car racing

I’ve decided to take a break from Onroad racing for awhile. hand in hand with this decision is the decision to wind down Actionrc almost totally. I guess I’ll be around for the next few weeks with two majors coming up and there’s no doubt I have a lot of stuff to sell yet before I can put Actionrc to bed. The hardest part of that decision is that I won’t now be bringing in the new Schumacher Mi3 – I won’t import and sell a car I can’t support with parts etc. Sorry guys but it’s time to pull the plug.
I’ve been racing now for well over 20 years and have certainly enjoyed myself, met some fantastic people, tasted some success and some failure and obviously as I always have – I wish you all in the hobby every success and enjoyment – it’s going to be quite a wrench not being around you all.
So what will I do to satisfy the racing urge and the need to be involved in some active pursuit – can’t see lawn bowls or fishing featuring too heavily and the arthritis precludes golf as a possibility. I have 2 EP 2wd offroad buggies in the cupboard which need a run and a 1/8th Gp buggy as well so maybe I’ll go have a play in the dirt for awhile or I suppose there is still the class that I have always threatened to have a go at before I retired – 1/5th. Or maybe just get reacquainted with my wife and dust of the caravan.
Whatever – I have a lot of gear to sell over the next couple of weeks and my loss could be your gain – make sure you have a look at what I have to clear – come around the house and we’ll get some stuff out and you can make me an offer. I’ll try to get a list together over the next few days.
If you are looking for something and you think I’ve got it give me a call.

Coupled with that decision, I’ll be taking a break from racing as well. I’ll be running mod tourer at the Bayside Cup, and the Gold Coast Challenge, and then not again (at least for a good while) after that. The car and some of the gear I’ve been using will be on the market if you are interested. We will hold on to radio gear as I’ve learned never to say “never again!”.
Thanks for the great races, great friendships, and that above all is what I’ll miss while I’m away from the race tracks. I might have to join Heavy and dabble in a little offroad at Ipswich from time to time.
    Cheers

It will be a shame to lose both of you to the greener pastures of the golf course!!! I have enjoyed racing with you Scotty G and your antics in the pits. It will be sorely missed.
Good luck and all the best in whatever you guys end up doing.

damn it going to be a different thing going to races and not seeing either heavy or scott at the track.
You will be both very sorely missed.
Have fun with the off road cars and with retirement from racing.
