Delegates from the South East Qld clubs met over the weekend to agree the format and style of the Interclub for 2007
The agreement paves the way for what promises to be the best year so far of Interclub competition. The basics of the agreement are as follows.
SEQ Interclub Championships 2007
Events. To be held over 4 events spread over 2007.
- Bayside 24 – 25th March
- Logan 23-24th June
- North Coast 25-26th August
- Gold Coast 10-11th November
All clubs to suspend normal racing these weekends and support the Interclub event.
Classes
Competition over 6 classes – 4 electric and 2 nitro
Electric – 540,stock, mod and 19t
Nitro -Gas Tourers and Protourers
Class rules
Electric: As per ORRCA rules plus 19t as per Interclub rules and rubber tyres all classes
(We will allow Novak Brushless 13.5 with standard rotor in stock and will trial a brushless for inclusion in 19t over the break and advise in time for Bayside if one is suitable )
Nitro: As per AARCMCC rules
Pro Tourers – Full AARCMCC Rules tyres open, 4 door tourer bodies no wedge bodies.
Gas Tourers – Engine as per Brendale’s gas Tourer rules -Any 3 port, side exhaust, non-turbo, non- modified motor, any starting system, Absolute Maximum 1 horsepower by manufacturers paperwork, open tyres, 4 door tourer bodies no wedge bodies.
Series Pointscore
The series to be scored for clubs on a 10 8 6 5 4 3 2 1 basis rather than adding the points from each event which will have the effect of keeping the series points tighter and more interesting. Individual events should be scored 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 on the 10 car A finals in each class as per 2006.
Entries
Drivers may only enter One class per day at each event.
Scrutineering
Up to the organizing club – enough to ensure that cheating isn’t rife but still not heavy or nit-picking enough to stifle enjoyment. The tone of the event is serious racing in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere .
Event Format
2 day event
Day 1. 540 and 19t electric and Gas Tourer
Day 2. Modified electric, Stock Electric and Open Nitro
Minimum of 3 qualifying rounds – all 5 minutes
Fastest 10 to A final.
All A finals in EP over 3 races (ORRCA system – best 2 to count and qualifying used as the tiebreaker)
All A finals in GP a 20 minute race (nitro drivers to marshall nitro final )
All lower finals in EP and GP – 1 race same time as qualifying (ie 5 minutes )
Trophies to 1st 2nd 3rd in each class.
