After a fabulous weekend of racing – 103 cars over 6 classes over 2 packed days, Logan City RCCC have taken a narrow victory in this years Interclub Championships. With 3 clubs (Bayside, Logan and Brendale ) locked together at the start of this final round, and, still in the same position at the end of day 1 it was all down to the final day to get a result. Although weak in the Nitro classes, Logan made up for it with numbers across all the electric classes to take 88 points from the weekend to Bayside’s 71 and Brendale’s 67.
It was the host club who surprised us all, not only with a super slick meeting and a great track layout, but with their domination of the points score (89 points) to take the round win – watch out for this club next year – they want the shield.
Winners of the trophies were roughly as follows – I don’t have the full results yet.

I personally had a great weekend, made two A finals, enjoyed some great company and – did I mention I loved the track.
Thanks to all the drivers and to the clubs for their efforts in making the 2006 Interclub such a success.
Thanks also to Adrian who took the time out last week to build a car for me – and he did a great job as well. I ran the car as built, by the book, and very stock – no expensive hop ups needed on the Schumacher EC. That I could come 3rd with the car that had only had one practice pack through it Saturday after racing finished is a great testament to both the car and Adrians building skills and to the quality of Schumacher cars – the car hasn’t even been on the setup station yet and Adrian was laughing at my very technical droop setting method – but it all worked, and with a better driver, who knows what might have been. I’m over the moon with third with the quality of that field.
